Time For A Change
Okay, I've had enough with my kind of job. Dealing with people who just don't appreciate what I do for them, some are bossy, demanding, and just plain rude sometimes. It's time for something different. Sometimes I don't even know why I got into this kind of work in the first place. Well, actually I do. I was going to become a nurse once upon a time, but I changed my mind and know I'm kind of stuck doing CNA work. For those of you who do not know what CNA stands for, it's Certified Nurses Assistant. The residents where I work can be so rude to each other. They pick a fight if someone sits in "their" spot at the table. They call each other names. Not the best language coming out of some of those mouths either. You would think they were a bunch of two-year-olds. There is even one resident who cries like a big baby. Yep, definitely time for something different. I was thinking of becoming a massage therapist. I think it would be so much more peaceful, even though I'm sure there are some strange people to deal with, but I would only have to deal with one person at a time and it would be more relaxing with a quiet atmosphere. Sure it could get busy, but it would be a different busy. Besides, I'm good at massaging, and I love getting them, too. Any thoughts?

A massage therapist is a very good idea. As we all know, life is stressful, and often times, a good massage and soothing music will calm the nerves physically so that we can go on with the daily toils in life. You also may want to think of dealing with scented herbal oils that you could administer to your clients. Oils are very affective and soothing, so they go hand-in-hand with massage.
ReplyDeleteWhat you are talking about is a bit of a jumble of a lot of things, isn't it. It's a reflection of the NEED for our healtcare system to CHANGE, why do you get paid so little for all you do?; it is the reality of aging, that people can lose control of their emotions and memories making them feel lost and upset; and it is also, what my teachers call, a good time for self-reflection. When you come home carrying the burdens from work it is a sure sign that burnout will occur over time. You have a big heart Brenda. Take care of it, nurture it, let it relax and not try to take on the weight of the world.
ReplyDeleteMassage therapy is calming. My mom loves doing it, but you hear about people's stresses a lot there too. With a big, carign heart like yours, talking with a counselor for a couple of sessions might be helpful for you to get ideas on how to leave stress at work, how to deal with other people's stress so it doesn't wear you down over time.
I think you wil be great at it. You naturally have that calming and peaceful way that a massage therapist brings to you when she lays her hand on you! Miss ya! Blessings on your new persue!
